Urgent help in England

If someone’s life is at risk or you cannot keep yourself or someone else safe, call 999 or go to A&E now.

For urgent mental health help in England, call NHS 111 and select the mental health option, or ask for an urgent GP appointment. You do not need to wait for this website or complete an exercise first.

Outside England, use your local urgent-care route. Outside the UK, use your local emergency number.

Someone to listen

Samaritans offers free listening support day and night. Call 116 123, or read its contact information.

Shout offers free, confidential support by text, available 24 hours a day. Visit Shout’s official website for current instructions. It is a text service, not a voice call line.

Mind’s support and information services can help you explore options. Mind is not a crisis service; its opening hours and contact routes are shown on its website.

You may also want to contact someone you trust. If one service is unavailable, another appropriate route may help. Availability and response times vary.

Finding ongoing support

A GP can discuss your symptoms, how daily life is affected and possible next steps. You can take notes or ask someone to help you make contact.

Eligible adults in England can also refer themselves to NHS Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression. You do not need a diagnosis or a GP referral first. The local service explains eligibility and waiting times.

If you are under 18, ask a trusted adult or health professional to help you find age-appropriate support. The NHS urgent-help page above also lists support for young people.

One minute, at your own pace

If you want to, notice a surface supporting you. Keep your eyes open and find three ordinary objects nearby. Notice a colour, an edge, a sound. Let your breathing stay natural.

You can stop or choose another approach at any point. Human help is available without completing this practice.

About the free Global Mind Guide

Is this a live AI chatbot or a person?

This first version is a programmed assistant using prepared answers and simple topic matching. It does not generate personalised AI responses or understand every situation. Casey is not monitoring it, receiving your topic searches or sending emergency help through it.

What happens to my words?

The guide processes topic searches in this page, clears them after a search, and does not send or save them as a chat transcript. No personal story is needed. It cannot assess your safety; the human-support button is always available. Normal website hosting and font requests still occur as described in the preview privacy information.

How does the voice work?

Read-aloud uses the voices available through your device or browser, rather than a ChatGPT voice. Choose a voice and reading pace in Voice options. Some voices may use the device provider’s online service. The guide reads prepared guidance, not your entered search. Voice quality and pause/resume behaviour vary by device; Stop and Replay remain available.

Is there a cost?

This prepared guide, grounding and support directory are free. No external AI API or per-message service is connected. Your device or internet provider’s normal costs may apply. Paid Global Mind Healing offers are optional and are not shown within the guide’s distress-support route.

Support information checked 22 October 2026 against NHS, Mind, Shout and Samaritans sources linked above. These are independent services; listing them does not imply a partnership. This page is general support information, not individual medical advice.
